At Virginia Advanced Surgical Arts, we provide patients with amazing oral rejuvenation, but we also offer many cosmetic procedures to help them feel their best as well.

We have thoughtfully designed our practice to provide the latest technology, high-quality treatment, and natural-looking results—no matter the procedure he is performing.

This is exactly why we invested in the Ellipse Laser Treatment system. We use this multifaceted system to provide patients with younger-looking skin through IPL.

What Are The Benefits Of IPL?

IPL is short for Intense Pulsed Light and is used to improve the appearance of various skin conditions.

With its dual filters and sub-millisecond filters, the Ellipse Laser Treatment system can help you achieve smooth, flawless skin. In fact, IPL not only repairs the signs of aging, but it can help prevent further aging, too!

Patient benefits of treatment with IPL include:

Evening out skin color and skin tone

Improving your skin’s texture

Improving your overall complexion

Stimulating collagen production

Providing tighter, younger-looking skin

Providing long-lasting results

Not only will you benefit physically from this advanced technology, but there are several other nice aspects of treatment with the Ellipse Laser system:

Fast treatment sessions, which take between 30 and 90 minutes depending on the size of the treatment area

Can be used on the face, neck, chest, arms, and hands

No downtime

Safe on many skin types

Is IPL Right For You?

Men and women with blotchy, sun-damaged, or discolored skin are good candidates for IPL. However, this cosmetic treatment works best on lighter, untanned skin.

If you have darker skin, or if you are very tan, you may not be a good candidate for IPL as there is a potential that your skin pigment could be affected by the laser treatment. Additionally, if you are pregnant, you should wait to undergo IPL until after you have had your baby.

If you suffer from any of the following skin conditions, you might be the perfect candidate for IPL:

Age Spots

Acne and acne scars

Freckles

Redness

Fine lines and wrinkles

Broken capillaries

Rosacea

Uneven skin tone and texture

Dyschromia

Melasma

Brown spots

Enlarged pores

Sunspots

Hyperpigmentation

Vascular and pigmented lesions

To truly know if you are a candidate for this treatment, the best thing you can do is schedule a consultation at Virginia Advanced Surgical Arts. During your meeting, we will be able to fully evaluate your skin condition and determine if IPL is right for you.

What Is The Cost Of IPL?

The cost of IPL varies from patient to patient and will be based on the treatment area and how many sessions you will require to achieve your desired results.

Make plans to visit Virginia Advanced Surgical Arts for a thorough initial consultation so he can examine your trouble area or areas and develop a treatment plan based specifically on your needs.

What Is The Recovery Time?

IPL is a non-invasive procedure and requires no downtime. There is no requirement to take time off from work or other daily activities to recover from your treatment, but you can expect to see some redness in your treatment area for several days.

After IPL, patients may notice that brown spots or hyperpigmentation will get darker and rise to the surface of the skin. Not long afterward, these areas will flake off. But do not worry! This is exactly what you want to happen—once the discoloration flakes off, your new, flawless skin will appear.

What Our Patients Say

“I felt welcomed and valued from the second I walked in the door to the moment I left. Every person I interacted with- from the front desk staff, to the surgical assistants, and even the doctor himself- was kind, informative, and helpful. I had my wisdom teeth removed on Friday and was back to work with only a mild and easily manageable headache on Monday. They gave clear instructions on how to prevent infection and dry socket, and even called to check up on me the day of and week after my procedure! I strongly recommend this office to anyone who is searching for the services they offer.

“Everyone was super nice, friendly, and courteous. The office is clean and modern. Everyone was professional and seemed pretty organized. I got to watch Netflix laying down while I waited as well. The staff was nice enough to even switch it to a show I recommended!! Also, there are snacks and drinks available for your drivers waiting on you. As someone who is wary of going to the dentist, it was a great experience and I’d recommend this place! Cute valentines day decorations when I was there too!”
