Frax Laser Skin Resurfacing

HOME / NON-SURGICAL PROCEDURES / FRAX LASER
using frax laser on patient

At Virginia Advanced Surgical Arts, we offer the Frax Pro system, an advanced diode laser system.

Frax is a non-ablative fractional treatment used by professionals to treat surfaces of the skin that have textural changes.

In general, if you have any of the following skin concerns, Frax may be right for you:

Fine lines and wrinkles

Acne scars

Post-acne hyperpigmentation

Traumatic scars

Other surface scars

Skin texture problems

Age spots

Brown sunspots

Uneven skin tone

Stretch marks

Actinic keratosis

Is Frax Right For You?

The Frax system is right for almost any age and skin type. If you desire to have younger-looking skin, you should call our office and schedule a consultation.

During your appointment, we will be able to determine if this med spa treatment option will best suit your needs and individual cosmetic goals.

Patients who have active skin conditions or sensitive skin may not be good candidates for Frax treatment. But remember, the only way to know whether or not you could be considered a good candidate is if you schedule a consultation.

What Are The Benefits Of Frax?

The Frax Pro system works by creating very small and controlled areas of heat on the skin.

As the skin is heated, the body is tricked into believing that the skin has been damaged; therefore, it responds by producing more collagen to repair the “damage.” Over time, thanks to increased collagen production, your treatment area will begin to appear smoother and firmer.

As we mentioned, Frax is a non-ablative laser. This means that patients who receive treatment with this device will heal faster than they would if an ablative laser was used.

In fact, there is virtually no downtime associated with this treatment. The risk of side effects is very low, and many patients only need one or two treatments before they reach their desired cosmetic goals.

Additionally, patients who choose treatment with Frax are left with improved skin pigmentation, fewer fine lines and wrinkles, improved skin tone and texture, a radiant appearance, and improvement in sun-damaged and scarred skin.

What Is The Cost Of Frax?

Treatment with Frax will vary in price depending on the area or areas to be treated, and the degree of repair required. Every patient has different needs, so every treatment plan will be different.

We will customize the treatment plan based on the patient’s desired results. That is why it is important to visit for an initial consultation to find out what your specific cost will be for your Frax treatment needs.

What Is The Recovery From Frax Like?

To make patients as comfortable as possible during treatment, this modality includes SoftCool™ technology. Even so, when you leave our office after your Frax treatment, your face may be red or sore, as though you have a slight sunburn.

This is normal, and the redness will subside soon. After a day or two, your treated skin will begin to flake. Again, this is a good sign! It means your new smooth, healthy skin is working its way to the surface. Most patients will begin to see their results within a week.

What Our Patients Say

“I felt welcomed and valued from the second I walked in the door to the moment I left. Every person I interacted with- from the front desk staff, to the surgical assistants, and even the doctor himself- was kind, informative, and helpful. I had my wisdom teeth removed on Friday and was back to work with only a mild and easily manageable headache on Monday. They gave clear instructions on how to prevent infection and dry socket, and even called to check up on me the day of and week after my procedure! I strongly recommend this office to anyone who is searching for the services they offer.

“Everyone was super nice, friendly, and courteous. The office is clean and modern. Everyone was professional and seemed pretty organized. I got to watch Netflix laying down while I waited as well. The staff was nice enough to even switch it to a show I recommended!! Also, there are snacks and drinks available for your drivers waiting on you. As someone who is wary of going to the dentist, it was a great experience and I’d recommend this place! Cute valentines day decorations when I was there too!”
